Sunshine Coast Table Tennis Club

The Club
The Sunshine Coast Table Tennis Club started in 1975 with a few people and self-made tables.
From these humble beginnings the club grew, incorporated and in 2003 moved to Nambour High School.
To accommodate our growth to more than 60 members of all ages, we have moved our competition to the brand new
Meridan State College Sports Stadium. This move has enabled us to play on ten competition and four
training/social tables.

NOTE: from June 2010, the club no longer plays at the Sunshine Coast University.

Social Play and Training
Currently four tables have been allocated for new members and social players from 7:15pm on Tuesdays at the Meridan State
College Sports Stadium.
Most evenings an experienced trainer is available to improve the play of members of all ages.
For those who just want to have a sniff of the excitement, some bats are available as well.
During competitions, social and new players may have the opportunity to fill in for absent competition players.

Fixture Competitions
Play starts at 7:30pm, however, players are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes earlier to set up the tables.
Players can decide on which competition to play. There is no need to commit to all competitions.

Tournaments
The 2010 OPEN Competition was held on 24th and 25th July, with 69 entries.

Social Functions
The end of the year usually sees a Christmas gathering for members and their families.
We are also planning a number of informal functions like bowling, bushwalking and BBQs during the year.
Suggestions are welcome.
